Business Development Area Manager

As a subsidiary of a Fortune 100 company with growth opportunity we are hiring for a strategic and dynamic sales expert who can identify develop and secure new customers in the food service arena.

Region: Will generally encompasses from the middle of Nebraska (Grand Island area) to Cheyenne and Denver which includes the corresponding parts of South Dakota and Kansas. The ideal candidate will live within this region.

Position Purpose: The New Business Development Area Manager is responsible for driving company growth by identifying pursuing and securing new customer accounts within an assigned geographic territory. This role focuses exclusively on new business hunting (prospecting outreach needs assessment and onboarding of new customers) before transitioning accounts to Account Managers for ongoing growth and retention. The Area Manager builds strong marketplace relationships executes strategic prospecting plans and ensures new customer activation meets defined performance and profitability standards.

Major Functional Responsibilities:

• Identify target and pursue new business opportunities within the assigned territory.
• Conduct prospecting activities including outbound calls inperson visits networking and participation in industry events.
• Perform needs assessments and design solutions that align with company products programs and capabilities.
• Lead new customer onboarding working crossfunctionally to ensure smooth setup initial orders and service alignment.
• Transition newly activated accounts to Account Managers following established handoff protocols.
• Track and report pipeline activity conversion rates and new business revenue contributions.
• Collaborate with Sales Leadership to refine territory strategy growth targets and prospect prioritization.
• Maintain current knowledge of company offerings market dynamics pricing models and competitive landscape.
• Ensure compliance with company policies pricing structures credit requirements and operational capabilities.
• Function as a team member within the department and organization performing any duty assigned to best serve the company.
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Complies with all policies and standards

Education/Training/Experience :

• Bachelors degree preferred; preferably in Business Sales Marketing or related field
• 3 years of Outside Sales Business Development or related experience required
• Distribution and/or Foodservice experience preferred
